FSX Carrier Ops

FSX Multiplayer Carrier Ops Session Info - Please read ALL the HELP sections. You will save yourself a LOT of time.

Why did I get ejected from the session ?

MY commitment to you is to provide everyone an enjoyable flight experience.
To achieve this commitment, there are session requirements and rules.

To help you understand some of this, I suggest your re-read FAQ section above.
It is your responsibility to understand the Rules /Requirements.

Bottom line .....  This is NOT a democracy... Rules are Strictly enforced.
IF, you choose to abuse..you will lose.

Most COMMON reasons for being ejected from the session.
"Carrier Based" aircraft can be found [here]

- Abuse of session rules.

Failure to Log into TeamSpeak Server      Not Using AI Carrier2 program
Incorrect aircraft used.                               Low level  flyover of carrier area.
Interfering with other players flight.               Stunt flying.
Use of "air show" smoke.                              Use of "drivable" carrier.
Using session for "free flight".                       Abuse of Mic
Other behavior displayed in session.            Unauthorized use of weapons.

- Failure to respond/comply to hosts verbal/chat box warnings.
- GameSpy glitch that says host has canceled the session.
- Host accidentally ejected wrong nick. (nothing personal... it can happen)

Session Rules

Lets get some of the basics down....

Session rules / things that may get you kicked.
== from the Admiral ==

NOT !   a "free flight" session.
REQUIRED:   AICarrier2... carrier"based"aircraft... and TeamSpeak3 .
NO !  Smoke - Flybys - Aerobatics - Blue Angels - Drivable Carriers

This is carrier ops! This is carrier ops! This is carrier ops!

Normal carrier "based" aircraft...  ie:  F-14, F-18, Prowler, Invader, Chopper... etc.

As a courtesy... Please expand your aircraft selection and pick a "GRAY" F-18... (NOT a BLUE ANGEL). The default Blue Angel will turn all the other F-18's you get near to... BLUE.

Keep your smoke off !!

aaah.. this ones hard... humm... a carrier op session.... oh yeah... my blue plane an smoke.!! right on!  NOT !!!!!

Don't come into a carrier op session.. and fly your Extra300 or Blue Angel and put on an air show... there are plenty of other sessions for that.. or do YOUR OWN... "LOOK AT ME" session.

IF YOU WANNA SHOW OFF.. find another session to fly in.. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE... we all have a blue plane and SMOKE... and can yell.. LOOK AT ME!!.. LOOK AT ME !!... so... like WHO CARES !  lol

Why in the world would someone come into a carrier op session.. and NOT do carrier ops.. but just fly around ? I just cant quite understand that!... carrier op.. is CARRIER OP... sure, we sometimes do formations, make hops, dog fighting.. etc.. that's part of it. .. Bringing in a 747-800 and just start flying around.. or bringing in your buddies to do formation stuff...makes no sense at all... There are plenty of sessions for that.. or better yet.. if that's your bag.. host your own session.

Got a sweet Payware plane (VRS Superbug is the exception to this rule)... kewl... too bad no one else can see it... dang.. OH YIKES.. they see me as a carrier or a 747-800 trying to land on a carrier... how cool it that... yeah.. It doesn't over crowd the deck everyone is on.. no big deal.... humm... Think about it.. it might be actually causing a problem for others.

Use some common sense and respect the other players. Remember, it's NOT all about you.. it's enjoying the challenges of carrier landings and becoming a part of a unique team of other carrier pilots in that session. This is a great place to make friends.

LEARN the carrier pattern (SEE the PHOTOS/Carrier Pattern section) for the multiplayer session, as it may vary.. ASK .. or at least OBSERVE whats going on. There is a T-45 pattern listed in this site.  Note it will vary from plane to plane.. so pay attention to the other planes around you, if you need.  OR>> ASK!

Pay attention... DON'T JUMP in front of another player when he/she is lined up in the pattern... Get in line.. just like the grocery store.. dude/dudettes !

A mic is only about $20.... an more importantly.. learn how to properly use it... DON'T YELL.. it really upsets everyone.. if someone asks you to turn your volume up/down... please do so...

DON'T BUZZ the carrier and interrupt the pattern.. it is VERY distracting.. you will know what I mean when it happens to you !!  So don't, mess it up for other folks.. simple as that. oops.. guess i said that already.. must be important, huh? Oh wait, I have that lovely kick button.. and haven't used it it the last 5 mins..  get the hint ???

OK.. OK.. now what.. ???

Simply enjoy carrier ops, there's nuth'n better :)

I have met and continue to be impressed by a lot of folks that fly carrier ops. I especially enjoy the real military pilots who join in, as they are serving out country... THANKS guys/gals !!! and thanks for the normal everyday type of guy/gal that loves flying as I do... its amazing the amount of new friends you can make.. by simply acting like a responsible person.. nuth'n better :)

Hope to see you in the session...

Intent of Session

Thank you for your input and opinions.. I do not intend to have this forum become a battleground. I have made every attempt on this website to explain rules/requirements.  Please use the "contact us" form for further inquiries or suggestions.  I am ALWAYS open to suggestions....

I will clarify one final time. ALL the rules and protection have been put in place over a 5 year period. At this time... they will remain in place. I believe a lot pf people simple do not understand the "mission statement"

This session is somewhat unique in FSX. If you are interested in Carrier operations, you may find this a  fun place to test your skills or learn new ones. This is a group of pilots, like yourself, who share an interest in naval carrier operations. Here you will find other pilots with various skill levels, willing to share knowledge. We hope you will share the decks with a great bunch of pilots, from around the world, that fly together in a "team" spirit.

- This is a semi-pro session... dedicated to carrier operations ONLY.

- Respect of others... is a must.

Age Limit of 16+ was put in place for SEVERAL reasons... mostly due to abuse and the total lack of respect of the majority of younger folks. I am just burned out trying to babysit.. to find the one or two younger guys that may come upon our session.  There are several that are still on probation and doing fine.. some have moved on.. and some have been asked to leave or been banned..after many many many warnings....over a reasonable period. However, this rule has eliminated a large chunk of having to "babysit" the channel. It's NOT about "realism" etc.. etc.. it's about RESPECT and sharing a mutual interest in what we do in the session..This applies to ANY age group.

Love it or hate it... the bottom line... for now.. it IS WHAT IT IS.   Will it change ?.. possibly... and hopefully for the better. This is NOT the only session that is locked down.. uses TeamSpeak.. or has rules in place.  Believe me guys.. besides my experience.. I DO visit other sites... and talk to other Hosts and groups. Each of us have a varying degree of "policing" to do.

I do this for FREE.. and spend my own time and money to do so.. by MY choice... ALSO....There have been NUMEROUS other members that have contributed greatly to what this session has become (Thank you all). It doesn't matter to me if it's just me flying or 100 people flying... This is NOT a popularity contest... it simply IS what it IS.This IS MY hobby.. I cannot give you the number of pilots whom have flown with us...(I quit accepting friends after about 500+ nicks). I can tell you that most have enjoyed the session .. learned.. or taught others.. and moved on to other interests.... All quite normal for this media.. Quite a few are now hosting their own sessions/sites. Which is GREAT!  It's not perfect.. but I still feel it is still one of the better respected sessions in FSX....and we certainly offer a lot of other things others do not.

It is my intention to maintain the above mission statement and  keep it that way.
